Jazz and Pop in a sensual dialugue
Pop songs of the 70ies and 80ies performed in a surprisingly different way. Monika Hofmarcher sensitively interpretes songs going straight to the heart: with her voice she gently takes the audience into wide jazz sounds and exciting grooves. She gives old songs a different touch – they sound more soft and acoustic while her performance on stage is exuding sensuality, putting the audience under her spell.
Monika Hofmarcher is an insiders’ tip in the Austrian Tradpop scene. Critics are unanimous: "She is one of the most promising singers at the moment." She does not run after the quick success, but follows her own path consistently and she knows exactly how to carry the audience charmingly. Monika Hofmarcher collaborates with well-known musicians of the Austrian jazz scene such as Aaron Wonesch, Johannes Strasser, Richard Österreicher ... Even in the USA she made a name for herself where she was awarded the grant of the Berklee College of Music. „She will have a bright future,“ commented Donna McElroy on the awarding.
Aaron Wonesch is one of the most popular jazz pianists of the Austrian jazz scene. The list of international stars he performed with is long: Phillip Catherine, Jerry Bergonzi, Bobby Shew, Mark Nightingale, Lew Tabacken, Jimmy Cobb, Ken Peplowsky, John Allred, Christine Jones, James Morrison, Dave Murray, Clark Terry, Joschi Schneeberger, pianist of the Big Band founded by Richard Österreicher, Viktor Gernot, Maya Hakvoort, Marianne Mendt, Nina Hagen and many more. Aaron Wonesch is lecturer for jazz piano at the private university Konservatorium Wien.
Karol Hodas , born 1974 in Bratislava, studied at the private music conservatory Konservatorium Wien in the class of uli langthaler and harald putz. He graduates in master of arts in 2010 with excellent success. Since 2005 he performed with artists such as Red Holloway, Howard Alden, Don Menza, Roman Schwaller, Hans Salomon, Oscar Klein, Vienna Big Band Machine, Harri Stojka, Willi Resetarits, Alfons Haider, Bella Wagner.
Gerfried Krainer studied at private music conservatory Konservatorium Wien jazz-drums in the class of Walter Grassmann and graduate in master of arts in june 2010. He works around Vienna in different bands and plays different mucsicstyles. He plays in musicalshows, works as a bigband leader and arranger. He performed with wellknown artists like Robert Opratko, Rudi Wilfer, Louie Austen, Herwig Gratzer, Tini Kainrath, Hubert Tubbs, Bella Wagner, Andreas Vitásek.
